Sandalwood Essential Oil (santalum album) is steam distilled from the heartwood of the tree and has a sweet, woody, lingering aroma.Sandalwood trees are usually felled at about 60 years old but never before 30 years. The best Sandalwood available is from Mysore in India and the Ag Mark which it carries is a government stamp to guarantee its quality and authenticity.
Sandalwood trees are becoming extinct so they are now only used for the distillation of essential oil.
